Epidemia niepamięci. „Pomór” Wałerija Szewczuka

The article concerns the novel Plague (1989) by Valeriy Shevchuk, in which author explores motif of epidemic. In novel, epidemic is a metaphor for lack historical and cultural memory caused an oppressive political system. Presented as form national amnesia, it serves background reflection on post-totalitarian heritage contemporary Ukrainian society. Shevchuk’s based documents, but not work literary realism, rather kind morality play that deals with universal issues.
